Marleen DT.. Dreams and Faith

Hey bloggers..

Just a quick post today to share a couple of cards I made for today's post for
I used the
Set of backdrops textures
&
style wire border s
tamp sets.
All the goodies I've used you can find in the BeeCrafty STORE.

I made these as I had all my goodies on the table from making the samples from the last hochanda show, and as I was "clearing up" these cards came together. I mean, they FORCED me to make them hehehe...

I made thse very quickly. 3 colours of distress ink, blending tool and a bit of patience.
Omce I had my colours blended, I used the same colours to stamp the backgrounds with.
I then took my black archival ink and stamped the borders and the words.

I matted on to black card stock and voila..
Very quick and simple.

And that is it from me for today. Thanks for popping by and for any comments left behind.

The Bookshop

Morning, I think everyone must be gearing up for the Christmas Season. I know I am, loads to do and running out of time to fit it all in. Today, I am sharing another project I made using the beautiful Bee Crafty Steam Punk paper pad which Bev brought to Hochanda. I really love the designs on these papers, they are wonderful to use, each one is a piece of art in it's own right and would look wonderful in a frame with very little done or added.

I chose to make a very simple design using this sheet from the pad, I selected the area I wanted to use and stuck it to a piece of board using Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink I stamped the Large Feather stamps onto Kraft card. I also stamped the Ink Pot with the same ink before using Versamark and brass embossing powder to stamp the nibs (both in the same stamp set).

I used some of my alcohol markers to colour parts of the design to highlight the characters. Finally I cut out the other elements and secured them to my piece using 3D glue gel.

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you like what I have shared and the short step by step. Take care and Happy Crafting.xxx

DT Kerrie - Painty Dreams

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty

Today I am sharing with you a recent make for the Hochanda Show's with Our Bev

I used one of the medium MDF Tags which I painted first with white gesso to give a nice surface to stamp and ink onto... I use a brush so I get a nice brush stroke texture.

Next I inked the tag using Spun Sugar distress ink and my Bee Crafty Blending Mat in the middle area working outwards. I then used Scattered Straw distress ink around the edges.

I stamped the Line&Dot texture stamp using a gorgeous purple paint, then the Distressed Dots texture stamp using a lush Teal paint

I decided to stamp the Inspired by DaVinci Script stamp over the whole tag using archival ink which I love as it stamps so crisp and dark even over paints and inks so it's perfect for mixed media.

To add a bit of an extra textured look I took a few pen lids and straws which I dapped into wet white and black paints to create the circle bubbles this was a sudden brain wave moment for a previous shows samples which I loved so much I had to make some more projects. I love using items from around my home which wouldn't normally be thought of as craft tools/supplies

For the sentiment I stamped the Dream Wordage Stamp onto watercolour cards rock that I had already trimmed to size. I then coloured the sentiment first with washes of the same paints from earlier and once dry I inked over two opposite corners using scattered straw distress ink. I matted this onto black cardstock and fixed to the tag using my hot glue gun.

I picked out some paper flowers in similar colours to the paints and inks I used. I dabbed them with black paint and a dry brush to add a darker look to them and fixed to the corners of the sentiment using hot glue gun.

I really like how this one came our as the colours are really lovely and shows mixed media can be pretty too

Thank you so much for visiting today and please come back again soon to see more gorgeous makes from the amazing Bee Crafty Design Team

Barbara DT - Snowflakes Everywhere

Hi again, I'm back with my usual Saturday post and this week I have a snowflake card to show you.
I've used colours not usually associated with Christmas....green, turquoise and yellow. I love using these three together, and have made quite a lot of cards recently with them.
I started off by blending the inks together, then when dry I wiped over with an anti-static pad. The snowflakes were stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed in white. I cut a small piece of vellum, heat-embossed the sentiment, then attached it to the inked card. A few twinkly stars and a die-cut reindeer finished it off. The topper was then mounted onto white 'hemp' textured cardstock.
What do you think??
The stamps used were from the Snowflake Flurry Set - HERE
and separate snowflakes - HERE

That's all for now, catch you soon,

Emily DT - Beautiful Things

Hi everyone, time for another project from me.

I have tried to do something a bit different this week. I have made a card using offcuts of card and also used colours I don't normally use.

Here is the card I have made...

I started by colouring three random rectangles of card with shades of orange Distress Ink. I then stamped over the edges using a stamp the wire borders set.

I cut a bit of glittery gold card and put the pieces together onto a square of white card.

I stamped the Dream sentiment round the edge of the biggest piece and the Beautiful Things sentiment in the middle in red.

I mounted the whole square onto the same gold card and then onto my card blank.

This isn't the sort of thing I normally do as I'm not very good at being random! I quite like how it turned out though and like the warm colours.

I hope you like it!

Marleen DT - Hochanda Samples - MDF Art boards

Hey bloggers..

Well?? Did you all catch Bev on Hochanda this past saturday? (19/11-2016)
Was'nt she just amazing as always??

Well today is my inspiration day for BeeCrafty, so although you may already have seen my projects made for the show, I decided to share them here on my blog today with details on how I've made them.

All the goodies I've used you can find in the BeeCrafty STORE and on the Hochanda shop.
 Tag: Mdf tags, Medium.
 Unprimed.
For this one I went strait to the tag with my distress ink. Not priming your mdf will leave your colours a bit more muted (and it may take a bit more ink to get coverage) but I really love the autumn feel this tag got. I used the "Set of backdrops textures" stamp set and stamped in a brown strait over my colours.

Now the tricky bit here is.. drying time!! It takes forever to dry.. ok ok maybe half an hour or so lol, but im a very impatient.. As I used embossing powder over my inking it HAD to be fully dry or else the embossing powder would stick to the whole tag. In the end I had it lying over night just to be sure.

I stamped with versamark and heat set with white embossing powder
I stamped with the "style wire borders" stamps and the "Any Road"greeting stamp.
I finished with a bit of white embossing powder aound the edges of the tag.

This one took me about 10mins to make. This one is made with the "Victorian Small" tag.
Primed with white acrylic paint.

All I did was taking my guilding wax strait to the primed tag. I just rubbed and blended the wax with my finger till I got the cover I wanted. I then stamped my "Faith" stamp and one of the "style wire borders" stamps with versamark and heat set with black embossing powder.

This tag is mahooosiiive... I'ts the "Victorian XXL" mdf tags.
Unprimed.
For this big tag I went strait in with distress paints. Mine are the dabbers so they are very quick and easy to paint with. (any paint will do may I add).
Once my tag was coated, I left it to dry. Once dry I spred a tiny amount of the paint on to my BeeCraft Blending mat and spread it out. I then tapped my background stamps into the paint and stamped, just like normal stamping, strit onto the tag.
I stamped using a selection from the style wire borders" stamps set and the "Set of backdrops textures" stamp set.

(All the word stamping on this piece is made with BeeCrafty WORDage stamps.. Its made from many different sets but lets just say it involved cutting up several of my greeting stamps.
I often cut up my stamps to do this and the best thing is, the BeeCrafty stamps are such good quality it matters not. I simply assemble the stamps again on my acrylic block when I want to use the full sentiment again.)

I then went on to make my little notebook. Its a cheap lined pad and I simply cut a piece of card the same size and decorated that. I cover my piece of card with distress paint also and used the same stamps as on the tag to decorate. I then carried on stamping all my words from the different sets to make my greeting. I stamped in versmark and heatset it with back embossing powder.
I added the cardstock to the front of the note book.

Once the note was finished I went on to stamp my greeting onto the tag. I simply just lay down the notebook where I wanted it, lined up my stamp and removed the book while  stamped, again with versamark but with goldembossing powder. I also added gold embossing powder around all the edges of the tag.

To finish the whole project I used an old pencil and rolled it with a piece of cardstock from the "Steampunk Backgrounds" paperpack.
I attached the pencil with some stick on velcro I found in my (never used) sewing kit.

Right the last one for this time..
I used 2 tags for this one.
Artboards Portrait Victorian Tag

MDF Tags : Victorian Medium

Primed with white acrylic paint.

This one was actually the first one I made for this show.. Those of you who pops by here will know that Im new to MDF and I find it hard to work with, but as with anything else here in life, the more you do it, the easier it becomes.
I still learning how all the different mediums work on the wood instead of card but its a lot of fun.

I started on the big tag. I stamped the word "beautiful" from the "beautiful things" stamp (once again I cut my stamps apart) repeatedly and heat set with clear embossing powder.
I also stamped a selection from the style wire borders" stamps set and the "Set of backdrops textures" stamp set and also heat set with clear embossing powder.

I then had a play with my Distress Crayons. I simply lay down colour and rubbed it around with my finger to blend the colours. I did the same to my smaller tag and on the base for the big tag. (no background embossing, just crayons). I then left them for a bit to dry..

Once my backgrounds was done I stamped my greetings. the full "beautiful things" stamp and the "Dream" stamp with versamark and heat set with white embossing powder. I outlined the base and both tags with gold embossing powder and finished the whole piece by sticking the tags together..

And that is it from me for today. Sorry for the long post.
Many thanks for popping by and for any comments left behind.

Wake Up

Morning, Today I wanted to share one of the samples I made for the Bee Crafty show on Hochanda. This was from the show when Bev brought us the wonderful Steam Punk Paper pads. The beautiful Feather stamps were also a feature of the show.

For this card I decided to use Kraft card for a different look and feel. I started by stamping one of the feathers letting them overlap, using a mask I had cut from copier paper. The colours I have used here are Shaded Lilac, Pine Needles, Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.

On another piece of Kraft card I stamped the 'Wake Up' stamp with Gathered Twigs Distress ink. This is a really fun sentiment that suits lots of occasions, I think it's especially good for teenagers.

To create the background I stamped the smaller Swirly Feather using Gathered Twigs Distress ink, allowing some to fall off the page.

I blended around my sentiment, background and main piece with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink to soften the edges.

Next I cut a piece of hessian approximately the same width as the background and frayed the edges quite heavily.

I layered my background onto brown Centura Pearl card and secured the hessian in place using Cosmic Shimmer glue.

Using some of the longer lengths of hessian thread, I wrapped them around my main piece and secured at the back with tape. I then layered this onto the same brown card.

I used another hessian thread to thread through a wooden button to act as an embellishment. Then layered my sentiment onto the same brown card.

To finish the card, I assembled, I secured the main piece to my background using foam tape to raise it, then 3D glue gel to add the sentiment, lastly I added the button, again with 3D glue gel.

I hope you like the finished card today and the step by step I have shared with you. Thank you ever so much for joining me. Take care and happy Crafting.xx

Barbara DT- A Little Bit of MDF

Hi bloggers, back again.....this time with a scheduled post, as I'm in Singapore at the moment, just checking out some craft shops and doing a bit of Christmas shopping.
Beverley is on Hochanda on today,  with some of the new MDF tags etc.
Here are the samples I made for the shows.

The background on this tag was made with Dylusions paints and stamps from the Wordage section HERE
and Backdrops & Textures HERE

I've inked this tag with Adirondack inks then used the same stamps as above.

This small tag has been double-embossed, but the same stamps have been used with a distress inked background.

On this plaque, I've used glittered texture paste through a stencil

Find the stencil HERE
Well, that's it for today, hope you enjoyed the shows with Bev, back soon with a Christmas card....for a change.
Have a good weekend,
Barbara x

Emily DT - Cold Outside

Hi everyone. I've been making some Christmas cards this week and I thought I'd share one design with you. I particularly like it as it doesn't feature traditional Christmas colours.

Here is the card I have made...

I started by cutting a plain white square and colouring it using Distress Inks. I used Twisted Citron in the middle and Mermaid Lagoon around the edge.

I used the Snowflake border from the Snowflake Flurry set around the edge in the same blue ink. I then added some of the small individual snowflakes from the same set, also in the same blue and also some in the green.

I stamped the Baby It's Cold Outside sentiment in the middle and accented it with some white dots.

I mounted it onto white card and then straight onto my card blank using foam tape.

I hope you like how it turned out.

Don't forget to watch Bev on Hochanda tomorrow with some fabulous stamps and MDF.

See you next week

Marleen DT - Friendship

Hello bloggers..

SO.. Whos excited for this saturday?? have you heard that our Bev will be back on Hochanda??

Well I for one am looking forward to it. Ive had so much fun working on the projects and Im looking forward to see what else Bev has to teach us..

In the mean time though, I have a quick card to share..
I used the "Friendship" stamp as a background. I love using this tecnique.
Find this stamp set and all the other yummy goodies in the STORE...

I used distress ink for this project. I simply pushed my ink pad down on my blending mat to get some colour out. I then sprayed the ink with water to make a little puddle. I swiped my card stock through the puddle, dried it with my heat gun and swiped it through again. leave to fully dry.
While drying I made my greeting. I have my "friendship" stamp cut so it only says "friends" (dont worry, the stamp can easily be put back together on my stamp block) so I stamped that and inked up the  greeting with the same colours I used on the background.

I then went back to my background. I stamped the full friendship stamp (with the same colour I used for the background) several times. I then took a honeycombe stencil and put the same colour through.
I then pulled out my glitter paste and put through the same stencil.
Once fully dry I layered my card, added the greeting and voila..

And that is it from me for today.
Many thanks for popping by and for any comments left behind.

Friendship

A little while ago Bev launched a beautiful Steam Punk paper stack on Hochanda. I adore the designs in this collection, In fact they are so wonderful and easily hold their own on a card with very little done to them. Sometimes I think it's so sad to cover them up, so for this project I wanted to use it almost as it is.

This is the sheet I decided to use for this card. You can see from the picture just how much detail makes up the design, is has been fun to read some of the articles as well.

I cut the section I wanted to use, carefully putting the excess away, I didn't want to lose any of the sheet.

To make the image really jump from the background I layered it onto black card, making sure it was only a very thin edge, I didn't want a frame as such, just an edge.

I then stamped the sentiment using black Archival ink onto the paper, over the clock at the top of the sheet. I positioned it so that the number would be at the edge, almost like an old train ticket.

I backed this piece in exactly the same way as before with black card.

Next I created the background. Taking a piece of cream linen card, I stamped the 2 swirly feathers using Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose and Old Paper Distress Inks. Next I blended around the edges with Antique Linen and Old Paper.

Using my alcohol markers, I added colour to the Violin and the lady, bringing her off the page even more. The papers have a beautiful surface and take the colour extremely well.

I coloured some cream crochet lace with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. I secured it across my card at the back with tape. I then secured this to a black base card before securing my topper using foam tape. I then positioned and secured the sentiment with Collall 3D glue gel.

I hope you have enjoyed the step by step today along with the finished card. Thank you for taking the time to visit.Take care and Happy Crafting. xx
